This gif is a transition from stock highbeams(!!) to my 4 Baja Design XL Sports. You can see the extended reach and width pretty clearly.
Some more driving on dark country roads. Still better in person.
Still extremely happy with the lights. Maybe need to change some angles on the lights themselves.
My Dad installed 2 Baja Sports on his JLU Rubicon tonight as well, replacing the stock fog lights. He had the upgraded lighting package, he hopes to sell the fogs to someone who didn’t.

Are your stock high-beams really that bad, or is the camera just not capturing them well?

That plus some side mounted cornering lights would be perfect.

They are horrifyingly bad. The Kia is better and the CX-3 is way, way better.

Yeah, I am toying with the idea of the two outer/undermounted lights being pure floods rather than combos

I can’t believe how bad those high-beams are. I’m certain my 500' s are better, even my Fiero’s might be. Quite the improvement and congratulations on a successful project.

that is a massive upgrade.
well done, well worth the time and effort installing them

Maybe an odd question, but are they legal to use on-road? They seem so much brighter than the stock ones.

No, even having them uncovered is illegal. But, so is speeding...

Sweet. You might play with your aim a bit- looks pretty hot right out front.
These are my stock high beams;
And these are with all four squadrons on;
Those trees way down the road are about 100m away..
Did your dad rewire that kit or did he do the plug and play? I ended up rewiring mine because the fogs only worked with low beams and went out with high. I wouldn’t want to drive at someone with Squadrons on- even the flood pattern is bad for oncoming traffic.

Fair enough. As long as you aren’t being “that guy” and driving on the highway with them on. I’ve seen a number of trucks with light bars on while driving on the highway. It’s incredibly un-cool, especially when they are behind you, and the light bar is at rear view mirror level.

I'd never. I try to be as respectful as possible with my speed and light

Yeah, I’ve been thinking they’re a little low. I set them at 1:30 am, so probably not my best work....
He did a plug and play kit, I think he is going to re-wire them though.

Makes me want to do something like this to my Accent...I drive in a lot of rural areas and with the number of deer and whathaveyou we see, it would be nice seeing them far in advance...

The main thing I’ve noticed with driving lights like that is because they aren’t dot legal (im assuming they aren’t dot legal) you can’t use them most of the time and when you do you get so used to the light level that going back to stock beams for an oncoming car is somewhat dangerous because your eyes have adjusted and for a few moments the road is REALLY dark.

Number one reason why I absolutely LOVE my autodimming mirror. I wont daily another car without one!!! Rear tints help as well with the ambient light on the really bright fuckers.

I ended up putting a footswitch on my Squadrons. I’ve got both sets of mine wired to the highbeams so normally
they dip.
My problem is I’ll only use them if traffic is nil, and as soon as I see any oncoming lights I switch down to low beams- leaving me in with low beams way farther back than regular.
With the footswitch I can quickly shut off the driving lights, and continue with stock highbeams until I’m at a reasonable distance to switch down.
